Who was your favourite lecturer? Why?

Allan Johnstone – he was really supportive in the early years after graduation, giving advice towards job applications and career pathways.

How is life post-graduation?

Pretty good! I’m working as a Features Reporter and Radio Presenter for the ABC down in beautiful Albany. I adopted an excellent pooch and routinely blow all my money on avocados on toast.

What do you think is Murdoch’s point of difference compared with other universities?

It’s a real community, has a beautiful campus and a huge range of courses and study pathways.

Tell me something you think or believe that almost nobody agrees with you on?

Nickelback weren’t that bad.

Where’s the most beautiful place you’ve ever been?

Turquoise Bay along the Ningaloo Reef near Exmouth.

What is the best decision you have ever made?

Packing up and moving 500km away from my family and close friends to live in regional WA. It taught me a lot about independence and looking after myself. It’s challenging, but also offers a unique sense of freedom and you get to meet some incredible people.

What are you hopeless at?

Maths. Thankfully I took up a career with words instead.

What skill or character trait do you wish you had?

Organisation. My desk at work and my life in general is a bit of a mess.

Who inspires you?

My best friends. Young, independent women kicking career goals, owning houses, raising kids and persevering through tertiary study despite some difficult odds.
