Why study engineering at Murdoch

You could design and build robots that deliver health and medical supplies, find more efficient ways to mine the resources needed for new technologies, developing new energy sources, or managing waste, pollution and water to create a greener world.
Five-star engineering courses
Murdoch has been ranked the number one uni in Western Australia by the 2022 Good Universities Guide for median graduate salary in engineering and technology. We have also been given a five-star rating for student support. Our undergraduate engineering course provides students with 450 hours of work experience as part of the degree, preparing them for real-life situations. This experience comes from:
- working in our renewable energy research facilities,
- learning inside a real-world engineering plant at the Bayer Pilot Plant, and
- working in the power engineering lab.
In addition to the work experience you have as part of your degree, you’ll have the chance to complete additional work placements, industry projects and work simulations through Work Integrated Learning. These practical experiences are your chance to see what your future career could be like, while gaining valuable experience and skills.
