Murdoch University Dubai students gain access to industry through new partnership
Communications students at Murdoch University Dubai will have access to exciting industry opportunities and training thanks to a new partnership with the Public Relations and Communications Association Middle East & North Africa (PRCA).
The partnership entitles students and staff to full PRCA MENA membership for the duration of their studies and employment, where they have access to resources such as webinars, events, development courses, a network of professionals, and insights into industry trends.
Joseph John Nalloor, Discipline Lead of Media Communications, Murdoch University Dubai, said this new partnership enables Communications students to advocate for excellence in strategic communications and public relations.
With this new partnership, our communication students get to be members of two professional PR associations (PRCA and the Middle East Public Relations Association). This will enable our students to attend events, and train for latest industry trends, best practices and be job ready as future communicators.” Joseph John Nalloor, Discipline Lead of Media Communications, Murdoch University Dubai
Mr Nalloor has recently been welcomed onto PRCA MENA’s board to represent academia with his extensive 17 years of experience in teaching media and public relations in Dubai. It also recognises his initiatives over the years in forging industry-student tie-ups.
Head of PRCA EMEA Monika Fourneaux said they are looking forward to supporting Murdoch Dubai staff and students and welcome Mr Nalloor onto their board.
It’s a pleasure to welcome globally recognised Murdoch University Dubai to the PRCA MENA. The institution has a remarkable history in education and developing talent with a 5-star rating in various areas including employability.” Monika Fourneaux, Head of PRCA EMEA
“It’s [also] a pleasure to welcome five dynamic leaders to our board. They will bring invaluable counsel as we continue our rapid growth across the region. I look forward to working with Natasha, Rosa, Imad, Louay and Joseph in what shapes to be an exciting year ahead.”
Dean and Academic President at Murdoch University Dubai, Dr James Trotter said it’s important to provide our students opportunities to grow their skills and knowledge through practical experiences and working with professionals.
“Our students have access to internship experiences so that they already have experiences using what they have learned in actual workplace settings.
We are very excited to partner with PRCA, one of the leading PR associations globally, and open doors to new opportunities, so that we can work together to enhance the experiences of our Communications students.” Dr James Trotter, Dean and Academic President at Murdoch University Dubai
